Music Notes–January 18

“Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.”

The words of this beloved hymn say it all!  If we keep Christ as our vision and hold Him in our hearts, His presence will light our way. This Sunday, January 24th, we celebrate the great Lutheran hymns of faith including, “Take My Life and Let It Be”, “Rock of Ages” and “A Mighty Fortress”!

We welcome the women of the choir who will share a delightful anthem, “You Have Come Down to the Lakeshore” which tells the story of Christ at the Sea of Galilee inviting Peter and Andrew to leave their fishing nets and follow Him.

“You have come down to the lakeshore seeking neither the wise nor the wealthy, but only asking for me to follow. Sweet Lord, you have looked into my eyes; Kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name.  On the sand I’ve abandoned my small boat; now with you, I will seek other seas.”

Join us this Sunday either in person at the 8am or 10:30am service, or via Live Stream during the second service, as we raise our voices in the classic songs of praise!

In God’s service,
