Tatiana Taylor, Director of Music

Tatiana Taylor Director of Music: Dr. Tatiana Taylor.  Dr. Taylor provides leadership for the total music program at Emmanuel.   There is no doubt that she loves music and really loves young people.   She will guide the choir and the instrumental and vocal music effort.

Tatiana Taylor is an active conductor, pianist and soprano. Tatiana has recently completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Music from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with additional fields in Sacred Music, Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy. While at USC, she served as the co-conductor of the University Chorus and as the lead conductor for the Oriana Women’s Chorus where she doubled the size of the choir. Additionally, her teaching assistant responsibilities included marketing, website content oversight, and YouTube video editing.

During her studies she has performed with the USC Chamber Singers, USC Concert Choir, University of Oklahoma Chorale, University of Oklahoma Collegium, the Rhodes’ Singers and the Rhodes’ Orchestra. She has also served as music director of numerous college ensembles as well as being the Artistic Director of the Bentonville Seventh-day Adventist Church Choir, and the Aria Singers in Boulder, Colorado. She currently sings with the SoNA singers, and is the Director of Music Ministries at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Previous degrees include a Bachelor of Music with a piano performance emphasis from Rhodes College, a Masters in Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Oklahoma, and her PhD in Musical Arts in Choral Music from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music with additional studies in Sacred Music, Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy. Tatiana is an active member of ACDA.  

She resides with her husband, Spencer, her daughter, Elisabeth, and their two cats, Rosie and Apricot, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
